Tips for a successful exhibit experience

1. Understand the urgent care audience

Focus on your prospects! What are their current issues and how can your product/service help to resolve their situation and make their daily job easier?  The UCA 2015 and 2014 Spring Convention attendee profiles can assist you in developing targeted messages to attract decision makers to your booth. According to the 2015 Spring Convention attendees’ survey, 81% indicated that they are planning to attend the 2016 Spring Convention (April 17-20) in Orlando.

2. Set goals for exhibiting

Whether you’re looking to grow your database of prospects, launch a new service or product, increase sales, broaden your brand awareness, touch base with clients, educate new buyers, network with colleagues, or perform competitive research, establish three main goals for your sales team to accomplish while they’re in the booth. Setting expectations will help ensure a clear path to show success. The 2015 Spring Convention exhibitors’ survey revealed that companies exhibit with UCA to build relationships with prospects (88%), increase brand awareness (77%), expand new revenue development (64%), meet key clients (35%), increase knowledge of the urgent care industry (25%), and others.

3. Focused promotion

Ensure your marketing and promotional items reflect your brand, product or service accordingly. UCA provides an attendee list pre-show and post-show. Use the list to create buzz around your booth activities and include a call out for special show promotions or giveaways; after the event, use the list to follow up with prospective buyers and remind them of your services and announce winners of any raffle drawings. According to the 2015 Spring Convention exhibitors’ survey, 21% mailed a pre-show promotional piece to the UCA attendee list and 48% sent an email blast. Additionally, 77% of exhibitors held an in-booth drawing or giveaway to drive traffic to their booths.

4. Download the mobile app

Mobile app use at the 2014 Spring Convention showed 61% of attendees were using it to learn about speakers, sessions and exhibitors, and the 2015 Spring Convention saw a 21% jump in mobile app users (82% total). The easiest way to connect with attendees opting to share their information is through the mobile app. Ensure your company description and contact information is up to date, and be sure to download the app to your mobile devices before the event. Increase your company’s visibility by securing one of the limited sponsorships, mobile app push notifications or banner ads.

5. Get social

Before, during and after the event, take to social media to let your audiences know about your participation in the event. Use our social media guide for sample tweets and tips, and be sure to follow UCA on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn (use #UCAOA16 in your posts).
