2017 UCAOA Fall Scientific Symposium:

Advances in Understanding and Treating Brain Injuries including Concussion

Thursday, October 26, 2017 | 8:30am – 12pm
Registration: FREE
(must be a registered attendee of the 2017 Fall Conference)

This scientific symposium is being brought to you by the Urgent Care Foundation through an educational grant from BrainScope Company, Inc.

There are a limited number of urgent care organizations who are collaborating with sports organizations and other entities to successfully care for individuals who experience a concussion. While many other urgent care operators simply transfer any head injury to the emergency department because they either do not understand how to best care for them or do not wish to assume the perceived risk. Oftentimes individuals who have sustained a head injury have difficulty finding prompt care following a head trauma, due to the limited number of medical providers adequately trained to provide evidence-based care.

Hosted by UCAOA and the Urgent Care Foundation, this Scientific Symposium will bring together urgent care industry leaders to address brain injuries and concussion care. The goal of the symposium is to provide information on the latest research and advances in brain injury and concussion diagnostics.  Panelists will address some of the specific challenges and successes in urgent care settings.  In addition, the Symposium will also address some of the industry best practices, workflow management, reimbursement strategies, outreach and marketing.
