Join us on Thursday, August 24, 2017, to learn from presenter, Lori Swanson,RN, M.H.S.A, C.H.C who is the compliance and quality officer at Physicians Immediate Care in Illinois, Indiana, and Nebraska. Lori is a registered nurse with a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration and Certification in Healthcare Compliance. With over 30 years in health care, Lori worked more than 20 of those years in acute care settings serving in multiple positions, including manager of employee health & productivity. During that time, she was instrumental in incorporating employee health, urgent care and occupational medicine service lines. Lori has been involved in UCAOA since joining Physicians Immediate Care in 2006, serving on Quality Committee in 2008 that created the applicability grid resulting in 2010 Joint Commission Standards for Urgent Care. Lori lives in Belvidere, Illinois, with her husband. She is active in her community and serves on several boards, including the Board of Directors for OSF College of Nursing and The Nikolas Ritschel Foundation.

Our presenter will speak about well written policies and procedures create efficiency, lower risk, support employee orientation and on-boarding and are an essential part of any quality program. Whether starting from scratch or customizing policy templates, operators need to understand the nuances of their urgent care center as well as those of their state or region. This session includes what should be included, where to find information, formatting, reviewing, and how to be implement the P&P into the urgent care center to optimize the benefits they will bring.

  • Author clear and effective policies and procedures, in a straightforward and efficient way
