Certification & Accreditation Choices – Know The Facts  - 11 a.m. CT


Pursuing any type of organizational/practice recognition, certification or accreditation requires planning. What type of accrediting body is right for you? What will it take to prepare?  Are the benefits worth it? This webinar will provide insight into different types of recognition for pursing urgent care certification, accreditation or PCMH recognition. Perhaps more than one type is right for you.

  1. Discuss and differentiate different types of accreditation.             
  2. Identify benefits and challenges to pursuing accreditation.                                
  3. Determine stakeholders for pursuing accreditation.                      
  4. Create an action plan to prepare and pursue accreditation.


Barb McKee Newman is currently a Senior Management Consultant with Concordis Practice Management, LLC in San Antonio. With over 30 years of practice management experience in many different medical specialties, her expertise includes all areas of practice management; however, she is extremely passionate about patient quality and safety focusing her emphasis on accreditation. Barbara has held several senior leadership positions, most recently as VP of Operations for MedSpring/Choice One Urgent Care, a 47-center urgent care group. She held a position as Director on the UCA Board of Directors. She was also a UCA Accreditation Surveyor for 5 years and remains an Accreditation committee member. Originally from New Orleans, she resides with her husband, Nate in San Antonio, TX. She enjoys cooking up a tasty pot of gumbo.
