What an Urgent Care Clinician Needs To Know About Workers' Compensation – Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 1PM CST

Taking care of injured workers has its unique challenges clinically and administratively. This course will help you to more efficiently and effectively care for your workers’ compensation patients. Dr. Rosenthal has worked in and managed physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in urgent care clinics and understands the opportunities and difficulties in caring for workers in this setting. She will share her insights and offer solutions to common issues in workers’ compensation. Dr. Rosenthal will help set realistic expectations for all stakeholders involved in the workers’ compensation system.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discuss the specific issues associated with Workers' Compensation in UC setting
  • Acquire tools to decrease authorization hassles and delays in care
  • Assess carrier/payers and why we are where we are today
  • Define the expectations of an urgent care clinician who is caring for a Workers' Compensation patient
  • Describe the components of an occupational history and evaluation of an occupational injury or illness
