Whether formal or informal, the development of protocols and the assessment of personnel occurs across all industries and all organizations. Those organizations that do it well, put together comprehensive protocols and training and assessment programs that are continually updated and improved. This course will guide you in designing and implementing your organization’s protocols and competency assessments.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the difference between protocols, training programs, competency assessments, and personnel evaluations.
  • Identify by key areas (e.g., Lab, Radiology) and by roles (e.g., RN, RT) the necessary protocols and competency assessments.
  • Define the most common methods of designing protocols and determine those that work best for your organization.
  • Create competency assessments using two common methods.
  • Utilize strategies to write and implement protocols and competency assessments.
