For many centers, the regulatory oversight of ancillary services is limited to the application for certification or licensure. Few centers face inspection requirements post install of x-ray equipment unless performing moderate point-of-care testing. This course provides an overview of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), state laboratory regulations, and state radiology regulations. In addition, key elements of ancillary policies and procedures are discussed with focused reviews of 1) providing blood glucose screening and 2) x-ray safety.
