Our Three-Pronged Approach:

Educate Congress & Regulatory Agencies

There is a gap in understanding urgent care’s current role and ongoing capabilities. Education will take priority in the early years of our strategy and evolve year-over-year so that as we advocate for specific changes the foundational understandings will already be in place.

Demonstrate Urgent Care's Role in Addressing Healthcare Disparities

We have formed a Commission on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion that will collect data, identify best practices, and set standards for urgent care’s commitment to addressing disparities in access and treatment, as well as ensuring our own commitment to DEI in our teams and industry leaders.

Advocate for Fair Payment and Inclusion in Future Emergency Planning

We'll be fighting for recognition of a national certification standard for urgent care centers and a certifying body, evolving the standards for POS 20 to match this criteria, and subsequently, specific provisions for centers who meet the standards, such as a reduced APP “discount,” separate fee schedules, codes, and modifiers.
