Over the past several months, UCA has been meeting with federal officials from HHS, CMS and the CDC to discuss some of the challenges of vaccine administration (including low reimbursement rates) and ways in which the urgent care industry can partner to increase vaccine distribution. This week, the Biden-Harris Administration announced an increase in COVID-19 vaccine administration reimbursement rates to $40. The rate has increased from $28 to $40 for the administration of single-dose vaccines, and an increase from $45 to $80 for the administration of a two dose COVID-19 vaccine.

The current deadline for the latest round of Paycheck Protection Loan (PPP) funding is March 31, 2021. However, the House of Representatives just passed legislation to extend the deadline for small businesses from March 31st to May 31, 2021. The Senate is expected to fast track passage of legislation this week.
