UCA and the College of Urgent Care Medicine (CUCM) are collaborating with the Society for Pediatric Urgent Care (SPUC) on a Quality Improvement project related to Antibiotic Stewardship.
These organizations recognize the need for a tailored antibiotic stewardship program to account for the unique challenges in the fast-paced acute care setting. This project will be done as a collaboration with SPUC and The Antibiotic Resistance Action Center (ARAC) out of George Washington University and will include technical experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Office of Antibiotic Stewardship.
This project will provide your pediatric urgent care center with a playbook for organizing a quality improvement project on the appropriate use of antibiotics. This includes access to a menu of interventions and providing the platform for data entry, analysis of the data, and site performance benchmarked against the entire cohort over a one year time period. You will be supported by the study team with monthly conference webinars.
For more information about what will be involved in the project, view a previously recorded informational webinar HERE, or sign up for an upcoming webinar in February (date TBD). Send questions and sign up for the next commitment and instructional webinar to Melodyfung@email.gwu.edu
