As healthcare continues to transform at an unprecedented rate, the importance of having the ability to get an accurate and in-depth view of your business is key to identifying ways to help your urgent care center remain competitive and profitable.

One of the hot topics as of late is accessing and leveraging data analytics as a means of improving supply chain efficiencies and managing costs.  While that may see like something that only the largest organizations would likely need, even small, single site urgent care centers can benefit from good analytics.

While you may be fortunate to have one or more staff members skilled in data analytics, or an operating system with reporting functionality that uses your own history, having access to analytics that also includes aggregated data from an extensive number of your urgent care center peers will give you a broader, more holistic look at where you’re exceling at, and where you can improve.

  • How is your Urgent Care Center performing compared to others in the market?
  • Do you know what your supplies spend is based on product category or by item?
  • Can you measure and track your per-patient costs over time and identify the peaks and valleys?
  • Can you standardize certain supplies and, if so, what impact might that have on your total costs?
  • Can you reduce costs and administrative burden by modifying your purchasing cadence?
  • Do you have visibility to know that each of your locations are complying to the established formulary or consistently purchasing through approved contracts?
  • Can you reduce cost by switching from a national brand to a private label product or generic pharmaceutical?

Answers to these and other questions can be addressed by the McKesson Business Analytics (MBA) Tool

Ask your McKesson Medical-Surgical representative to discuss how this capability might be of benefit to your urgent care center or send us a request via email PCFormSubmits@McKesson.com.
