UCA Members and Urgent Care Industry Associates,
It is with deep sadness that we write to inform you of the passing of Rebecca (Becky) Burress on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at the age of 53. So many of us involved in the world of urgent care had the opportunity to benefit from Becky’s smile, her genuine interest in getting to know everyone and her ability to turn the adjective “Amazing” into a verb. We are all blessed by having someone with such a positive outlook on life as a friend and colleague.
From the start, Becky has been an integral part of the urgent care industry. She was the first Urgent Care Association paid employee, helping pull together the conferences and grow the UCA into the organization it is today. She most recently served as the Administrative Director of the North East Regional Urgent Care Association, where she again worked her magic at building relationships to help NERUCA grow and prosper.
Those of you who had the opportunity to speak with Becky over the years know that her life revolved around her two daughters, her dogs, and the “work family” she adored within the urgent care industry.
We hope you will join us in celebrating Becky's amazing life in some way. Becky’s birthday was August 31st. In true Becky fashion, she considered the entire month of August “The Month of Becky”. Her family has planned a service to celebrate her life at Highland Park Church in Lakeland Florida (address below) beginning at 1:30pm on August 3rd to coincide with “The Month of Becky”.
Some have already asked where they might make a contribution to honor one of our own. A GoFundMe account has been created to assist with expenses related to her passing, and Becky's daughters have also requested that donations be made to one of the following organizations in her memory. Becky was passionate about what each of them represented.
Becky never met a stranger. We shall miss her infinite enthusiasm, energy and spirit.
