UCA was recently pleased to host the inaugural On-Demand Medicine Association Collaborative.  Representatives from the American Telemedicine Association (ATA), the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), the National Association of Worksite Health Centers (NAWHC), the Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA), and the Convenient Care Association (CCA) all convened at UCA’s administrative offices on July 17th.  While these organizations may have different agendas and objectives, the goal was to identify common areas and issues where we might advocate on behalf of on-demand medicine with a unified voice.

Given the dynamic nature of the on-demand healthcare industry, we see our coming together as an important call-to-action to ensure we are staying abreast of key issues and trends as well as safeguarding the success of this important healthcare vertical which is meeting the needs of millions of patients and consumers.  The group tackled subjects ranging from regulatory and reimbursement advocacy opportunities to legalized marijuana and the opioid crisis. Action items emerged and common ground was identified. We look forward to continuing the conversation and uniting as a sizeable voice for the betterment of our collective members.

UCA would like to thank Jeanne Zucker, member of the UCA Board of Directors, for facilitating the collaborative.
