Hands-on Casting and Splinting Course
The medical workforce is experiencing a surge in midlevel providers such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants. MLPs are regarded for their quality care and lower cost; and are often utilized in urgent care as primary staff or to supplement physician coverage. However, some MLPs or new graduates may lack the clinical skills necessary to hit the ground running in urgent care. As such, UCAOA developed its new educational program called Hands-on Casting and Splinting Course, which debuted at the recent Fall Conference in Glendale, Ariz. This course was so well received by participants — it garnered near perfect marks on the course evaluation for high-quality content and faculty — that UCAOA will be holding additional courses throughout 2014. If you are interested in obtaining more information about this course, email education@ucaoa.org.
