Oluwatoyin Fapohunda-Adekola, MD, MBA

Dr. Oluwatoyin “Toyin” Fapohunda-Adekola graduated from the UMDNJ RWJMS-Capital Health Regional Medical Center Family Medicine in 2013. Since the start of her residency, Dr. Adekola has been attracted to the fast-paced acute care medicine.To gain experience, Dr. Adekola took months-long rotations in urgent care and emergency medicine.Dr. Adekola was a volunteer Health Columnist for the Yakuti E-Magazine.Dr. Adekola is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and has an MBA in Health Care Management.

Julie Kafka, MD, MS

University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford/Rockford Health System, in collaboration with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Illinois, Rockford and the Urgent Care Association of America

Dr. Julie Kafka is from Illinois originally, finishing her undergraduate and graduate school at Illinois Institute of Technology. While there, Dr. Kafka played basketball on the varsity squad. For medical school, Dr. Kafka had the privilege of going to the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten; and she completed a residency in Family Medicine at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, staying an additional year to complete a fellowship in Sports Medicine. Dr. Kafka’s personal interests include: traveling, playing sports, going to festivals, and watching the Cubbies try to win some baseball games – wait ‘til next year.

Sabrina Sood, MD

Dr. Sabrina Sood graduated from Stanislaus Family Medicine-UC Davis, California in 2011. She was the Leadership Fellow of her local medical society during residency.After graduation, Dr. Sood practiced primary care with some urgent care shifts.These occasional urgent care shifts introduced her into the world of acute outpatient primary care and subsequently found her niche.Seeking to be expertly trained, she then applied and was accepted as a fellow. Dr. Sood is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine.


2012-2013

John D. Peralta, MD
University Hospitals of Cleveland

Dr. John Peralta graduated from the Cook County-Loyola-Provident Family Medicine Residency Program in Chicago Illinois. Dr. Peralta is described by his mentors as bright, well-read, empathetic and efficient. Dr. Peralta’s volunteer work with the underserved minorities has impacted his medical education and preparation. He is very enthusiastic about teaching and is looking forward to interacting with the urgent care’s rotating students and residents. Dr. Peralta is fluent in both Spanish and English languages.

Simon G. Tanksley, MD
University Hospitals of Cleveland

Dr. Simon Tanksley graduated from the Palmetto Health Family Residency Program of the University of South Carolina. Dr. Tanksley is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Tanksley’s scientific interests include musculoskeletal research and physics.Dr. Tanksley was awarded the Cornell Hans Bethe Prize in Physics.He speaks English and Spanish fluently. Dr. Tanskley is a seasoned international traveler. His other hobbies are cycling, photography, rock climbing and SCUBA diving.

Mohd Noman Mohiuddin, MD
University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford/Swedish American Hospital

Dr. Mohiuudin graduated from Deccan College of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad, India and completed his Family Medicine residency training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. He successfully served as Chief Resident during his third year of residency training. He is Board certified in Family Medicine. Dr Mohiuddin is a member of American Academy of Family Practice and the Urgent Care Association of America. Dr Mohiuddin plans to work as an urgent care physician in a teaching institution after completing his fellowship.

 

2011-2012

Ranier Ng, DO
University Hospitals of Cleveland

Ranier Ng, D.O. graduated from Cleveland Ohio’s MetroHealth Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program. The same institution hired Dr. Ng to be the first teaching Urgent Care attending of their new Urgent Care facility. Dr. Ng will be able to fulfill his previously expressed plans of having a combined practice of urgent care, primary care and osteopathic manipulation. Dr. Ng took advantage of the Osteopathic parallel track offered by the UH-Urgent Care Fellowship to hone his osteopathic skills.The track is made possible through a collaboration with the UH-Richmond Medical Center’s Department of Osteopathic Medicine.

Gerard Martin, MD
University Hospitals of Cleveland

Gerard Martin, M.D., graduated from the Lehigh Valley Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program of Allentown PA. Dr. Martin has been drawn to the excitement ofurgenciassince his volunteer days as a medical student in Mexico which continued on during residency. He exhibited his commitment in perfecting his skills and knowledge in the practice of urgent care during the fellowship. Dr. Martin is well loved by his patients. He has a reputation for performing painless I&Ds. He has accepted a position as urgent care physician at South Baptist hospital in Miami, FL to be close to family.

Andrezej Dudas, DO
University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford Physicians Immediate Care, Ltd.

Dr. Andy Dudas graduated with his medical degree from Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at West Suburban Medical Center. Over the last year Dr. Dudas has been participating in a combined fellowship program offered by the University of IL, School of Medicine in Rockford, IL and Physicians Immediate Care. During this fellowship Dr. Dudas has had the opportunity to participate in many rotations to prepare him for a career as a urgent care physician. Physicians Immediate Care is pleased that Dr. Dudas will be joining their team at the completion of his fellowship program. Dr. Dudas will also continue to work part time in a traditional family practice for the University of IL, School of Medicine as well.

 
2010-2011

Brett Kaplan, MD
University Hospitals of Cleveland

Dr. Brett Kaplan graduated from the University Hospitals Case Medical Center-Family Medicine Residency Program in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Kaplan has tailored his 1-year training for a future practice in a rural ER setting or urgent care center with academic affiliation so he can teach. Dr. Kaplan is an outstanding physician. The UH-Urgent Care Network is pleased that he will be joining its team of teaching physicians. His long-term goal is to practice in his Georgia hometown as an urgent care provider.

Ivan Lizarazo, MD
University Hospitals of Cleveland

Dr. Ivan Lizarazo completed his Family Residency training at Cook County-Loyola-Provident Hospitals of Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Lizarazo is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Lizarazo has matured into an exemplary provider of health and a self-assured individual during this training. He is proficient in Spanish. He plans to return to his roots either in Illinois or Florida to be an Urgent Care Provider in the next few months. In the meantime, he will be working as a locum tenen physician at the UH-Urgent Care Network.

Luke Herman, MD
University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford Physicians Immediate Care, Ltd.

Following the fellowship, Dr. Herman will be taking a position with Rockford Health Physicians working in their Convenient Care locations. He is certain that his training this past year will be of great help.

Venkataramana Nalluri, MD
University of Nevada School of Medicine/Department of Family and Community Medicine

Dr. Nalluri’s 12 months of Urgent Care Fellowship consisted of 132 shifts at UMC Quick Care as well as additional training in the fields of Adult ER, Orthopedics-general, Orthopedics-hand, Orthopedics-foot and ankle, Cardiology, Pediatric ER, Hyperbaric Wound Care, Ophthamology, Practice Management, Industrial Urgent Care, Sports Medicine, and Radiology and Musculoskeletal MRI. Dr. Nalluri also saw a variety of patients in the Family Medicine Clinic and precepted Family Medicine Residents during this time.

Dr. Nalluri plans to continue to work at the same facilities in which she completed her fellowship training, UMC Quick Care in the Las Vegas Valley.

 
2009-2010

Dr. Rinsy Nair, MD
University Hospitals of Cleveland

Dr. Nair completed her Family Medicine Residency training at Cook County-Loyola-Provident Hospitals of Chicago, Illinois. During her senior year, Dr. Nair shared her knowledge by providing lectures to medical students from Loyola and Rush Universities. Dr. Nair thereafter transitioned seamlessly into the role of an Urgent Care Fellow at University Hospitals Case Medical Center-Urgent Care Network. Dr. Nair is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Urgent Care Association of America.

Dr. Jasmeet Bhogal, MD
University Hospitals of Cleveland

Dr. Bhogal completed his Family Medicine Residency training at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School-Capital Health System, New Jersey. He served as Chief Resident in his senior year after being unanimously elected by his peers. It is the same winning personality and work ethic that endears him to the staff of University Hospitals Case Medical Center-Urgent Care Network. Dr. Bhogal is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Urgent Care Association of America


2008-2009

Gloria Kim, MD

A diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Kim has since moved to the state of California to practice Urgent Care Medicine, pending licensure approval. In the meantime, she is enjoying her freedom: traveling, camping and exploring her new habitat. Dr. Kim was Chief Resident at Columbia University’s Family Medicine Program, New York. She graduated Magna Cum Laude at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. She has strong interest in working with underserved populations and volunteers locally and internationally. Dr. Kim is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Raymond Adams, MD

After successful completion of the fellowship, Dr. Adams moved back to Colorado where he has strong family ties. Dr. Adams is a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. He completed his residency training at St. Mary’s Family Medicine Residency, Colorado. Dr. Adams was honorably discharged from the United States Army Reserves as a Combat Medic and Medical Specialist. Dr. Adams is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Colorado Academy of Family Physicians.

Janet Little, MD

Dr. Little graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and completed her family medicine residency at Christiana Care Health System in Wilmington, Delaware. Her urgent care experience comes from working at ExpressCare of Belair in Maryland. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, and the Urgent Care Association of America.

Roberto Caganda, MD

Dr. Caganda graduated from the University of the Phillipines received his practice license in 2002. He completed his US family medicine residency at Saint Francis Family Medicine Program in Delaware. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, the American Medical Association, the Delaware Academy of Family Practice, the Association of Phillipine-American Physicians, and the Urgent Care Association of America.


2006 - 2007

Allison D. Parkman, MD

Dr. Parkman graduated from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and completed her family medicine residency at Baton Rouge General. She has experience with two urgent care centers starting in 2005 in Louisiana. She is a member of UCAOA and the American Academy of Family Practice.

Sadhana Sharma, MD

Dr. Sharman graduated from the Ghandi Medical College in Bhopal, India and completed her family practice residency at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee. She also completed an MPH degree at Northern Illinois University. She has experience with urgent care at a center in Ilinois. She is a member of UCAOA and the American Academy of Family Practice.

Shelly Verma, MD

Dr. Verma graduated from New York Medical College and completed her family medicine residency at Mountainside Hospital (Atlantic Health System) in New Jersey where she was active in the academic committee and research activities focusing on ambulatory disease management. She is a member of UCAOA and the American Academy of Family Practice.
