2015 Election Run-Off
Share |

After one of the best member voter turnouts in UCAOA election history, we have experienced the first tie vote. Vote percentages were equal for two candidates: Dr. Sharad Patel and Jeanne Zucker.

A run-off election will open May 18, 2015 at 8am Central and conclude at 5pm Central on May 25, 2015.

As these two candidates are equally strong in the eyes of the voting membership, I encourage you to review their biographies and videos provided below.

  Run-off Statement:

My hospitality and healthcare operations background will lend itself well to the board. I feel the ability to relate to providers, administrators, and multi-site operators will allow me to represent all parties and their interests to help our association provide the tools and resources for our members. I have developed strong relationships within and outside the industry. I will work hard to represent the association as it builds strong relationships with politicians, health systems, and payers. I feel strongly the association can benefit from someone with my healthcare and business background.

 Run-off Statement:

I enjoyed meeting many of you at our recent Chicago UCAOA conference. I am Jeanne Zucker, VP Client development with athenahealth, and President Emeritus of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA).
I am seeking election to the UCAOA Board of Directors for the following reasons--
First, access to high quality, convenient and affordable care is necessary today, and urgent care represents a disruptive innovation that addresses this. Serving on the board, I believe I can bring perspective, insight, and passion to what it takes to be inventive and innovative in this space.
Second, as an association we will need to bring valuable programs and services to our membership. Serving on the Education and the Strategic Development and Partnership Committees, I have and will advance these objectives.
Third, for our industry to grow, we will require investment in leadership, organizational development and talent management. We have some great leaders today. Further focus will allow us to identify, develop, and advance our future administrative and clinical leaders. My experience with the HBA has grounded me in the requirements and strategic planning necessary to develop strong healthcare organizations and workforces. I understand how associations work and can help set the course for career development and advancement in this industry, which will benefit individual operators and the industry as a whole.
I am running for the board because there is important work to be done to lead the most influential and innovative trend in healthcare today.
I look forward to serving as a board member.
Thank you.
