Course Agendas - There are a combination of 1 and 2 day courses.

Clinical Masterclasses (Offered as 1 or 2 day course)
This interactive program utilizes 100% urgent care cases, combining lecture and audience participation to replicate clinical challenges in urgent care. Test your knowledge and skills in real time, and take home clinical pearls to ensure improvement in your practice.

Newly Revised - Comprehensive Clinic Startup (2 day course)
Starting an urgent care is not like opening a private practice. As a full-service medical facility and “retail” business, there are many considerations – contract negotiation, site selection, physical setup, equipment, and more. Learn how to do it right from experts and industry veterans.

New - Internal Marketing – Tools for Improving Patient Experience (2 day course)
Patients’ perception of a center often determines whether or not they will recommend you to their friends and family.  Investing the time to develop a strong patient experience program can pay off in referrals and increased patient volume.

Urgent Care Marketing – The Essentials for Growing Your Business (2 days)
A vibrant marketing program can be the key to your center’s success but sometimes it gets lost in the day to day tasks.  Take the time to learn about urgent care specific marketing strategies with the perspective of industry experts, successful owners and marketing experts.  Gain a better understanding of how both your internal and external message effect the success of your center.

Successful Reimbursement Strategies (1 day course)

This is really all about dollars and sense!  You’ll receive a full on exam of your coding processes.  It will cover Diagnosis Coding, Hot Topics, Urgent Care E/M and MDM, Urgent Care Procedures, Modifiers Maze and Q&A Open Session.

Roundtable Urgent Care Coding (3 hours - offered only on Oct. 5th)

This small group round table coding session will provide a hands on review of urgent care practice charts with real time coding feedback.  The session will also afford opportunities for interactive coding Q&A discussion and professional peer sharing.   Registration /class size will be limited to ensure quality instructor to participant ratio.   While this course is a companion offering to the Reimbursement Strategies course, it is targeted and open to all Urgent Care Coders or Auditors.

Class size will be limited to 20 participants.

NEW - Hands-on Splinting and Casting Workshop (1 day course)

Many urgent care centers utilize mid-level providers (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants) to supplement physician coverage or as primary staff.  In addition, many seasoned physicians from other areas of medicine are entering urgent care, however, these providers may need to gain additional expertise in order to “hit the ground running” and provide quality service in the urgent care environment.  In this course attendees will learn management of fractures utilizing splinting and casting.

The course is a full day hands-on skills lab supplemented with didactic presentations. The faculty is comprised of experienced clinicians with educational expertise. At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe the differences between fiberglass and plaster splints and casts
  • Determine the appropriate splint for the most common upper and lower extremity injuries
  • Apply a short arm cast
  • Safely remove and bivalve a cast
  • Select an appropriate anesthetic for the injury
NEW - Reposition Your Center in an Era of Healthcare Reform (1 day course)

You know it’s coming and why not take the proactive approach and make some changes to your center that will make a true impact?  Spend the day learning strategies to put your center ahead of the game.  This course will cover:

  • New Delivery and Payment Model
  • Health Reform Status and Implications of Urgent Care
  • New Insurance Marketplaces – Early Observations and Implications for Urgent Care Centers as Providers and Employers
  • Survive Uncertain Times - Implications of Health Reform, Mergers, and Other Market Changes
  • Partnering Effectively – From Network Participation to Data Flow
  • Every Market is Local – Workshop to set your strategy

Exhibit Hall - The interactive Exhibit Hall floor plan is available to review the companies exhibiting with us. These are industry experts and are available to answer questions and teach about their products and services and what would be most beneficial to meet your clinic needs. Run your cursor over the booths to access the company description and contact information. Contact them before the event, or make an onsite appointment!
